  1. Lobbyists are not the entire reason.

We and companies who pay for employee's insurance are also footing the bill for those who do not have insurance.

MOST of those are ILLEGALS, everytime they go to the emergency room, every time they have a baby, etc., etc.

It is not all lobbyists, a major portion is NON CITIZENS with no insurance, and they actually get better treatment than Citizens not having insurance.

What is wrong with this picture.  Illegals should receive zero entitlements in my book.

  2. Because the trial lawyers have a strong lobby.

  3. This is a subject that won't get votes or easy solutions!! That is why it is not on either candidate's agenda!!! It is a subject that will have to be dealt with in the future decisions.  It is not a popular subject because no one has the answers.  Pharmacy companies, Doctors, Insurance Companies have

the answers but won't deal with them because profits are just too good of a thing.  It frankly scares me, how about you?

  4. Maspractice insurance is only one of the reasons why health care is so expensive in America.  Another 2 reasons are the drug companies:  they invest a lot of money into aggressive advertising for their products and pass that expense on to the consumers.  I've watched a report by 60 minutes once, that compared drugprices and found that the same drug, made by the same manufacturer were cheaper overseas than here.  They wanted to know why but never got a sufficient answer.  Just watch the news and see how many prescription drugs are advertised during that time---this "just ask your doctor" thing is in almost each commercial for drugs--it's aimed at persuading people to ask for specific kinds of drugs---and since advertising during the news is one of the costliest, can you imagine what that adds to the pricing of drugs.  Another reason why health care is so expensive is the obligation of our emergency rooms to treat people who have no insurance.  That adds a huge burden to the hospitals who pass it on to those who got insurance. Here is an example:  I got a bill and found a charge for a "Mucus Recovering System" 12.00 dollars.  When I inquired about it, I was told that it was a box of tissues....and so it goes with a lot of other things.....

  5. The Republicans have introduced several bills to limit this ridiculous cost to us, and the Democrats have killed it every time due to the Lawyer lobby power.

Vote NO INCUMBENTS until Congress wakes up! They are destroying this country. Stop listening to the media and blaming Bush. The President has no real power in our system of Government. Congress has the power. They are to blame. We are letting them off the hook. Check it out get educated. Learn the facts.

  6. Gaby is right.  The problem is, so many of our politicians ignore the REAL fix to the problem, and would rather go the slippery slope route of Nationalized healthcare - not because it will help us (we the people), but because it will consolidate more power in their hands.  I agree - vote no incumbent, with a few exceptions.  Around where I live, the Congressman from the Austin TX area is a guy named Ted Poe, and from what I have seen of him, he is great.  Not to mention just half an hour away from me, Lake Jackson... vote Ron Paul!

    EDIT

h**l, look at John Edwards.  He made a fortune as a malpractice lawyer, actually "channeling" dead babies in order to extort huge sums from hospitals, thus raising prices for all of us.  I guess that was what he meant by "Two Americas" - one America (his America) exploits the system, and the other America (us) are left to foot the bill.

  7. As far as my knowledge, this is a question with various answers,it is really depending on the mind of yourself, providing a great resource here for reference though.http://health-insurance.onlinebestoffer....

  8. Kick backs!

  9. Because almost all politicians are lawyers.  They protect their own.

It is unfortunate, but correct.  An example:

When my first daughter was born, the entire doctor bill was $1200.  $200 of which went toward malcpractice insurance.

When my second daughter was born, just 4 years later, the entire doctor bill was $3000, of which $800 was for malpractice insurance.  The OB doctor had to pay $800 FOR EACH MATERNITY PATIENT HE TREATED!

This is out of control and it is wrong!
