How come on my online account balance it says that all my money isnt available?

When cheques are deposited into the account the balance is immediately increased, however the money is not available for your use until the cheque is cleared. This usually takes three days. Hence the available amount remains the same as it was prior to the cheque being deposited.

yup, they can do that, most of the time they get it right, there could be a recent pay that hasnt totally been cleared deposited, or a cheque payment not cleared, you should contact the bank if you need funds.

Most banks have a deposit float or hold time.

The hold times are regulated, but when the account is new, they can be longer.

Check your bank's website, and search for the key words: "deposit holds" to find out how long your money will be tied up.
