How come parents always say maybe when their kids make an audition and have to move to california ?

Okay here it is.

I ask my mom if I ever make an audition and I have to move to california to make the movie,show.ect.

And she always says maybe or we'll talk about it.

Why do they say tht ?

  1. Simply because it's one thing to keep banging on about it, and yet another to actually DO it, and a near-miracle to be successful at it.


  2. She knows that the likelihood of you actually auditioning for a movie or TV role is small, and even if you do, your chances of actually getting the role are really, really, REALLY small, and she doesn't think you'll actually make it -- but she doesn't want to discourage you by telling you that.

    In the highly unlikely event that you DID actually get the role, THEN you and your mom can have a meaningful conversation about your possible future in show business and your need to relocate to LA.  Until then, its just a wild fantasy you're having.
