How come people always look better in real life than video from camcorder?

  1. The way your eyes see the word and the way your brain automatically interprets that image is a million times better and faster than any camera ever built.  Don't forget that you also see the world in 3D and all of our common video systems display in 2D.

    Even if the computing technology existed to match the visual cortex of the brain, it would require a computer the size of a car engine attached to a camcorder the size of a large briefcase to be able to achieve the same visual interpretation of the human brain and eyes.  This would not be easy or fun to haul around.

    The information from this camera and computer system would still need to go to a high grade 3D system capable of displaying it in  manner similar to the actual recorded subject.  This 3D technology is still far out of our reach.  Most current systems are the size of a ballroom and can create only the simplest of images.
