How come people just asume that pot smokers are stupid and aren't going anywhere in life?

I've seen this a lot seeing as how i smoke and a lot of people just judge you as a slacker pot head who's stupid and isn't going to amount to anything. The truth is that I'm a very good student and get good grades and have a lot of things I want to acheive in life but for some reason everybody thinks it's impossible to smoke weed and be succesfull. I'm just wondering where all of this judgement is coming from because I know a lot of peope like me who smoke pot and get good grades and have goals.

There has been a long standing position that marijuana is a bad bad bad drug that screws you up, even though its not.

The best way to change people's opinions is to become educated on the facts and help educate others.  You will never change anyones opinions with this poor you rant.  But you might with statisitics about how marijuana can be safely used recreationally without tipping into other drugs, or how marijuana can be used safely medically for a number of issues.

For a topic that almost everyone has strong opinions about, few people on either side are really educated about the facts.  How many people against marijuana can tell you why it was banned in thr first place.  How many people for marijuana can tell you the real medical risks of using?

People (parents and children) listen to D.A.R.E. officers, religious leaders, members of the media, and politicians too much. People accept what they're being told as fact, simply because it is being told to them by someone with "authority". Nobody does any research in serious issues so they can know the truth for themselves. Plus if a majority of the people go by what they see in mainstream society.

Most people in mainstream society are irresponsible and immature when it comes to herb and well, d**n near everything else. People form their opinions off of what they hear and see, although the person's view may not be 100% true. So because they see something, they react based on a skewed view of the situation.

People who smoke, or sell herb and still want to be successful have to put up with bullshit like that because of the majority of the fools who choose to act irresponsibly, and the sheeple who believe everything that the people with "authority" say.

because of stereotypes of how all pot heads spend all there money on weed and then kill all there brain cells from it. and then theres the gateway drug theory that people who smoke weed will do other serious drugs like cocaine and heroin. and being successful and being a pot head is untrue just ask snoop dogg.

Because Pot Messes up ur brain and destroys brain cells, and its only the ppl that are smoking multiple times a day taht are percived that way
