Question:

How come people say they have to put a "special" hat on to do a certain job? Why not special undies??

where did that saying come from anyway? and what exactly does it mean?

  1. I think its just because it shows to anyone looking at them exactly what they are doing or capable of doing. Not saying that anyone that puts on a chef hat can cook ;) Just saying that It's meant to show that this is what you do usually for a living and it just makes it easier.

    And I think they don't do special undies because generally, you don't want to check out someones undies to see what their specialty or occupasion is. I think alot of people would be confused if we did that ;)


  2. a person with many task or jobs.  or a person who is multitalented, say for example plumbers are required to have some knowledge of electric you  would not want to hire a plumber and an electrician to install an oil burner for example.   this saying has been around for many years

  3. What the first poster said is correct as well, but to answer your question. What job requires certain undies, while on the other hand there are jobs that require certain head gear (protection or other things). Plus head gear is more noticeable compared when to other things.
