  1. They weren't exactly stone age.  They used copper, gold and silver.  The probable isolation is certainly a possibility.  Considering how long modern humans have lived, it seems strange that it would develop independently so close in time to that of the rest of the world.  It makes me suspicious of influence from ancient mariners.  The pyramids also seems very close to the step pyramids.

  2. They weren't in the Stone Age. They were peaceful farming communities, who had a myth that a bearded god, like Quetzalcoatl,  would come to them oneday...

Instead, the Spaniards turned out to be bearded conquerors!

  3. You are seriously misinformed. Pre-Columbian, well developed, metal mining and working, city building, and agrarian civilisations, are as old as anywhere else on the planet including the Nile valley and China.

We are still trying to learn how much these so-called "stone-age" people knew about the pharmaceutical properties of plants which they used every day.

  4. PreColumbian civilisations in various parts of the Americas can now be traced back to an equivalent of a "neolithic" revolution" about 5000 to 3000 B.C.

Try to find some history and archaeology books that are much more up to date then whatever you have been reading!

    Stone Age?

The Azecs and Pueblo and other cultures used metals.

Some modern Amerind cultures seem primitve  because their ancestors abandoned various technologies to revert to nomadism to more easily  hide from the Spanish and others conquerors colonists and enslavers.

Do you know what legacy De Soto's expedition left to the last of the Mississippian urban cultures?

Disease leading to large settlements being abandoned!

  5. Its because of two things. First they didn't have good crops or animals. (the only domestic animal they had before the Europeans arrived were lamas which couldn't pull a plow or carry a human etc.. Second is because ideas travel better in a east to west axis and not a north to south axis due to the different time zones north to south. You can read more about it in a book called guns, germs and steel

  6. Pre-Columbian Civilization is as old as Old World civilizations. The 2 major Civilization centres are in Mesoamerica and the Andes which are 5000 years old on average.
