Soccer is popular pretty much in all the world except in the United States. Why is that? One would think that it would be at least popular during the World Cup, but Americans have also showed little interest in that. Why?

  1. My theory is Americans like beer breaks...and soccer doesn't offer that.  Just think...baseball has 9 innings, football has 4 quarters as does basketball...not to mention all the time outs.... soccer just has 2 periods.

  2. People like the games their parents played and were exposed to it from an early age.

There are many sports in the U.S. and soccer has never been one of the major sports.

Even the people who played as children here do not attend or watch now that they are adults.

It is not an easy sport to watch on t.v. which is where most Americans watch sports.
