Question:

How come some liberals seem to think that "freedom of speech" does not apply to conservatives?

A few anti-war protesters attempted to deny John McCain's freedom of speech, by disrupting his acceptance address at the RNC.

Don't these people believe in free speech for ALL Americans -- including those whose opinions are different from their own?

I don't recall this kind of thing being doen during Obama's acceptance speech.

And please, none of this "they were only exercising their own free speech" garbage.

Exercising one's rights does not mean we are allowed to infringe on someone else's. That's what these idiots did.

  1. Oh, it applies. It's just that when conservatives speak, it can sometimes be hard to stay awake enough to listen.

  2. They are hypocrites that know that Republicans will call them out for their lies and socialist ideas and the American people will be smart enough not to vote for them.

  3. Jenny Kim ,,,yea it was wrong that they did that ,,its called Obama had to pay those people to disrupt McCain ,,,thats how it goes and when people do that its then called we show them the door and a foot up where the good lord split them ,,ok thats it ,,,

  4. Um aren't the Republicans the ones that got on stage and blasted the media for doing their job. Don't they have a right to free speech too?

  5. There is a difference between "Freedom of Speech" and "Lies".

Republicans tend to lie to get what they want.  Yet they get dismissed for it and noone seems to care.  But if a democrat stretches the truth, they''re still talking about it for years afterwards.

  6. some idiot said there freedom was taken when they were dragged out! thats a moron! does that mean I have the right to interrupt a live news broadcast and shout at the camera? free speech right?

  7. You're a liar. Those protesters was one of your own. Radical Ron Paul supporters! You Repubs are always lying! tisk tisk

  8. That's what I was thinking.  And as for the whole "their freedom of speech was denied when they were dragged out" statement, that's just not true.  Their freedom of speech was denied when they decided to disregard public safety and became an unruly mob.  Some of them were using tear gas for christ's sake.  There's a reason we don't tolerate anything other than "peaceful" protests.  But in the end, they only hurt themselves.  Hurricane Gustav was supposed to dominate the news this week, but then all of those violent protesters brought the attention right back to the RNC.  John McCain thanks you, St. Paul.

  9. ""it goes both ways... their freedom of speech was being interrupted when they got dragged out...""

lol what a warped point of view.  they were preventing someone elses freedom of speech.  We have rules about protests and taht person(s) did not follow them.

If their speech is contigent upon infringing on somone elses rights its obvious who is in the wrong.  If you cant see that you need to really study what those rights really mean.

  10. of course it does, they have the freedom to twist everything the democrats believe, and i believe this week, they've exercised that freedom!

  11. it goes both ways... their freedom of speech was being interrupted when they got dragged out...

there are two sides to EVERY argument...

    sorry jenny

Joe E: im not an idiot or a moron or whatever you called me... and may i say that i am correct. if you would like to debate this email me... i always allow it...

  12. Rubbish.  Conversatives are always the ones telling liberals to shut up and not question their government.  They make liberals feel like **** for asking questions.

Also, if people from the international community start giving their opinion about the Bush administration, the conversatives are always the ones to tell them to butt out and say "it's none of your business, you are not entitled to an opinion over our business."

It is the job of every PATRIOTIC AMERICAN to question their government!

  13. There is a HUGE difference between "Freedom of Speech" and "Slander"...  thats the difference!

  14. Liberals believe in free speech for themselves and anyone agreeing with them.  No one else is afforded that freedom because it underminds their beliefs.

Liberals want you to accept their ideas even when they aren't going to even listen to yours.

They really don't care if they interfer with your freedoms.  In fact that is their whole purpose!

  15. True...

I'm not a Mccain supporter, but i don't agree with the protesters busting in and interupting either...

  16. You sure are cute, but to answer your question they like the "fairness doctrine" and think free speech only applies to them.

  17. You do know that they are fellow Republicans supporting Ron Paul.  I would say the DNC just did a better job of securing the perimeter.

  18. Very good points, as usual, Jenny, and you seem to have hit an Obamabot nerve.

You seem to have been flooded with silly, illogical Obamabot answers.

No one from the McCain camp was rude or stupid enough to try to shout down the silly media hype and bizarre fanfare at the DNC Convention.

It seems now that the more desperate Obamabots become, the louder and less sensible they also become.

Love, I wrote to you, all of your "points" have been discounted and proven wrong already. Perhaps you can catch up to the debate by re-posting your answer as a question. We McCain supporters would gladly help you see your errors of logic and fact. Perhaps after your do this, and see where you seem to be misled, you might not embarrass yourself so much in the future.

  19. I have a better question for you. Why is it that anyone who doesn't belong to your n**i party is labeled unpatriotic by the right-wingers?

To answer your question, a true liberal believes anyone should have freedom of speech... The ones who were disrupting the speech weren't liberals, they were rude.

  20. Because the democrats are idiots and their supporters are idiots...

That is the democrat supporters attack, to go into the RNC and do some stupid act like that. The democrats should teach their supporters to have some decency.

Democrats are upset because they now may loose their purposed free welfare and actually may have to go to work.........

  21. THAT IS TYPICAL OF THE LOONY LEFT. THEY BELIEVE IN SHOUTING DOWN OR ATTACKING THOSE THEY DISAGREE WITH.

  22. Well, in all fairness the protesters are not liberals. Most are just idiots who hate everything about america, Obama and McCain, and you, and me, and everyone. But I agree that most liberals are complete idiots.

  23. Freedom of speech is the highest right in all the land------if------

it fits inside the box---a box of regurgitated propaganda of the left-wing news media.

  24. Well you can say the say thing about the war protesters.  Their Freedom of speech was bounds out the door.  Goes both ways dear.

  25. This is why I am changing my vote from Obama to McCain, I was split on them both. But the way the democrats have been acting lately has made me not want to be in the same room as them.

  26. Just more double standards from Liberals, nothing new.

  27. As usual a group of LIBERAL DEMOCRATS ..crashed the GOP convention and attempted to shout the speakers down......they were trespassing and you DO NOT have the right to commit a crime to INFLICT your views at a PRIVATE affair....You have to realize that liberals are impaired mentally and believe that freedom of speech ONLY applies to WHEN THEY ARE SPEAKING or someone that agrees....If you disagree or have a different point....they feel they have the freedom to shout you down.....Great Question...

  28. Because they know that their arguments can be ripped to shreds by common sense communicated through free speech.

  29. I think it doesn't matter McCain should be glad he was interrupted now he will be on all the new channels. Lord know his speech was a sleeper and the media would have skipped the embarrassment McCain's empty rhetoric had on the crowd. That is if the protester stayed seated in one on the hundreds of empty seats. They couldn't fill the seats they had and the place was tiny. Good luck getting the votes. lol

  30. Liberals always think they are the only ones with all the answers… most of them cry for the freedom of speech, but they don’t believe in it belonging to anyone else who opposes their ideas of so called “change”

  31. Well, perhaps you don't realize it, but there are millions and millions of people in this country who do not agree with John McCain.  Perhaps the RNC was so anxious to fill seats that they brought in people off the streets for this event.
