How come some people use a right hand while others use left what is the cause is it phsycological?

I doubt it.  I think it is something physical.   I don't know what, though. But there are a lot of ways the body is not symmetrical.  Probably the most well-known is that the heart is on the left side.

I can't see why the majority of people would have a psychological reason to prefer the right hand.

It's neurological. One side of the brain is dominant and determines "handedness." If the left brain is dominant, the individual will likely favor the right hand. Left-handed people have a dominant right brain. The majority of the population is "left-brained" and uses their right hand.
