How come some wives won't let their husbands go anywhere? Not even to the neighborhood grocery store.?

Because she doesnt have self esteem or trust in herself to have chosen a trustworthy man.

Well my hubby and I have been on our own for 2 years. To this day if he wants to go to the store he'll ask me if I want to go with him. If I say no, sometimes he'll go on his own, or he won't end up going. Maybe when you go out, you don't invite your wife, so she might suspect that your up to something. Good luck :)

Some wives like to control their husbands; some wives are paranoid and some worry for good reason.  

I think most wives would love a husband who would go to the neighborhood grocery store

Oh one last thought maybe because he always goes over budget when he goes alone

It isn't necessarily that she is paranoid or doesn't have self esteem. Some women have good reason not to trust their husbands and if their husband doesn't want them going with them or doesn't offer to let her go too, I would say he is hiding something. Sometimes it is the man's fault she doesn't trust him. Granted there are women who are controlling just for the sake of having control but that isn't always the case.

Insecure, distrusting, and downright paranoid. A husband is not a child you allow or disallow to do something. He is a grown man and should be able to do as he pleases. And with me personally, I just don't have the energy to place that much control on my husband.
