Sometimes when I wash, even dark clothing like black and denim end up with spots that appear to be from my laundry soap? I generally use Tide, but sometimes Woolite and Oxyclean. Also Downy. Does anyone know why this happens and how to stop it?

  1. Here is the right way to use detergent.....put the water in and get it about 1/4 full, then add the soap (no clothes) make sure the soap is dissolved,  then add the clothers.  Putting detergent directly on clothes is what spots them up.  And always use color safe detergent for dark clothes to prevent fading.  dark clothes fading is the #1 problem using regular detergent.  I have done my laundry this way for about 50 years and have never had a spotting problem.

  2. Read the direction on the soap container.  More soap does not make things cleaner.  When they say heavy soiled they mean the guy at the gas station that changes your oil. .

  3. the washer has to be able to turn the cloths around, if your packing the washer to full of cloths , it will do that

  4. It happens because it not diluted properly meaning there not enough water mix with laundry detergent. Use your laundry scooper or cap with your hands to make it more suds. So might also want to less the amount of laundry detergent your using

  5. If you do large loads of laundry it could be that there is too much laundry in the machine and it doesn't have enough room for the water to wash off the soap properly.  When I do large loads some of my clothes get white streaks or spots on them and I was told I was loading the machine too full.
