  1. Huge role Albert play in Victoria's life, as well as in the English and International affairs, has never been underestimated. You will find quite a few pages developed to him in any serious history book.

This said, Victoria was the Monarch, he was a mere Consort. Naturally, history remembers her way better, and even some of his achievemtns are often attributed to her. After all, you don't hear about many Queen Consrots as well.

  2. Albert the Prince Consort is always mentioned in connection with Queen Victoria, and has had quite a few books devoted to him alone.

He was a man of remarkable intelligence and energy and good sense and played an emormous role in Queen Victoria's education and growth as a Monarch.  During his lifetime his widespread interests (especially in Science and Technology -- he was a Royal Nerd) and abililty to get things done in spite of many obstacles earned him great respect -- and also fear (that he was becoming an uncrowned King.)

However, because of the rules of the monarchy (of which he was fully cognizant -- he married Queen Victoria well knowing what his subservient role would always be --  he was forever consigned to a few steps behind her literally and figuratively and historically.  Even so, he accomplished much more as Victoria's Prince Consert than he would ever had done as a German princeling.

  3. Because she was monarch, and he was her consort, the emphasis of the history books is on her.

Besides which he died in 1861, Victoria reigned for another 40 years (two thirds of her reign) after that, so his influence after his death was pretty limited! :)

  4. Because it was her first cousin.

  5. You mean monarchy?  It's because she was the monarch, not him.

  6. The Albert Hall, The Victoria and Albert Mueum, The Albert Memorial, The Albert Bridge, the male piercing - Prince Albert, the Canadian city of Prince Albert, the Royal Albert Bridge over the tamar - all of these things, and many more are named for him.

Albert died in 1861 - Victoria reigned for another 40 years, so it is not that surprising that he is not mentioned as much as Victoria - but his legacy is enormous.
