  1. Many reasons combined:

Conflicts over who got more songs on each album

Desires to do their own work (solo albums)

    Influence of wives/girlfriends/others (Yoko, Linda)

Arguments over credits, royalties, song rights, legal cases

Look at the Beatles Wikipedia page under History: Studio Years.  That explains it better.

  2. the same reasons as to why all good bands get separated..

    1. ego clashes

    2. famliy influences

    3. outsider influences

    4. jungle fever

  3. Throughout their career as a band, they continued to innovate and grow. after ten plus years, they came to a point where in order to continue that growth, they had to separate. These guys spent every waking hour together as youth and at the time of their separation, they had grown into men with families and different interests. Also, spending so much time on the road early in their career took a toll on them.

John was very caught up in a more avant-garde artistic direction with Yoko

George was ready to have his voice heard after having to take a backseat to Lennon-McCartney. This is evident when he released his triple album "All things must pass"

Paul was already in a solo mindset and eventually formed "Wings" that had a rotating lineup

Ringo got into film and tv but remained close to everyone, often working on projects with the others.

  4. Yoko Ono was the one who talked John Lennon into wanting out.  Otherwise, they all got on each others nerves after they started making lots of money, going on too many tours and they fell apart.

  5. they realised that they sucked!
