How come the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony video is nowhere to be found?

I have searched high and low for it but just couldn't find any. There are slideshows on YouTube and Metacafe but not videos.

Is it wrong to watch it on the internet? What about people who missed it on the tv? Do they actually have to BUY it from China?

  1. Any videos sites that doesn't take down any user upload videos will run a risk of being sued by parties that has Olympics broadcast copyright. If in the US its NBC. So if youtube and metacafe show those videos to any user in US they will be in trouble. But user will continue to upload the videos and when the games are over the videos won't be taken down now. That is just what happen to EURO 2008 videos.

Anyway if you want to see highlights of the Olympics including the opening ceremony you can sign in to youtube and subscribe to their Olympics channel.

  3. You can get Beijing Olympics opening ceremony video here.

  4. nbc.com had clips of each part... if its not there then its cause they took it off so they can sell it as a dvd... saw the advertisement on tv earlier...

  5. They're putting all four hours of it on a 2 DVD set on nbcolympics.com, it's 30 bucks though.

  6. NBC is selling the opening ceremony on dvd now, so maybe that is why you cannot find it.
