It is reported that he is the richest Royal in the world with an estimated fortune of 19 Billion UK£.

Where did he make his money?

It is really impossible to quantify the wealth of a sovereign.  If all the land owned by the state is identified, nominally, as property of the crown and a random number is put on it, any value is possible.

Actually I was just on CNN's website myself and was really startled when I read about him. I can only think of corruption since it's the Saudi's who are known to be ruling the charts lol!

I fail to understand why the Thais continue revering there rich king while the British have began attacking The Queen.Thailand is a semi-constitutional monarchy where all of the country's wealth(achieved through looting and conquests)used to be concentrated in the palace's hands,until recently.The kings hardly cared for the Thai populace and the current weak democratic constitution came into being as the king was scared of losing all his power to ardent republicans.The king however,donates to development projects all around Thailand.
