  1. Because it's been broken like that for almost 2 months now, and Yahoo still hasn't fixed it or publicly acknowledged the many daily messages from users similarly affected.  I'm amazed...I've never dealt with or been a user of an online service or Website that had such a major feature go down for so long a time, and not have the obvious problem acknowledged somehow by a message or a note to that effect on the service's or site's main Webpage.  To me it just reflects that Yahoo's decision-makers and Webmasters are typical computer geeks hardwired to be good communication skills-deficit and common sense-less.  This happens about every 6 months, so maybe expect to see the feature back up-and-running...oh, sometime near mid-August or so for the first time since about this past May.

  2. This is what I got when I email support asking why I get no results, Tell me how much they read! My Subject even read, Search - I didn't get any results.

    Email response from Yahoo support:

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Member Directory.

We understand you would like to add a photo to your profile. We

apologize that the ability to change or upload a new picture on your

profile has not been active for a while now.

We are aware of this problem and hope to have it fixed within the next

round of enhancements that we implement to Yahoo! Profiles. The

development team is focusing all of its resources on building a new

universal Yahoo! Profile which we are certain will delight you. Because

we are focusing our efforts on the new solution, this bug will not be

resolved. These changes may take several more months, and we apologize

for the inconvenience in the interim.

If you have any other questions or concerns while we investigate this

issue please let us know as we'd love to help!
