  1. As far as i understand it the eggs of a hen are fertilized inside her body when she mates with a rooster. The hen then develops and lays the eggs which she incubates and then hopefully hatch. The reason that the eggs we eat don't contain chicks is that they are not mated with a rooster but will be laid anyway even though they are unfertilized.

  2. The eggs you can buy in groceries aren't  fertilized. The chicken farms have tens of thousand female hens, layings eggs without roosters help.. . We eat the roosters, and only  few selected roosters are used to produce fertilized eggs for more chickens (hens and roosters).

  3. coz they aint fertilised!

its like.the way women give out their ovum thru their periods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  4. Chickens lay blanks all the time. These are called "unfertilized eggs."

When roosters are involved, the eggs are fertilized inside the chicken, the shells start to harden before they are laid. we don't normally eat those, because we want a future generation of chickens.

  5. s*x is s*x, first comes s*x, then the eggs..lol...if you crack open an egg you will see the the white of the egg (its clear) and the yolk (its yellow) then if you look closely you will see something that is attached and white in color....than is the beginning of the chicken...the rest of the egg is actually what the chicken feeds on as it grows.....so what else would you like to know?

  6. Chickens that are raised for eating eggs are never exposed to a rooster so their eggs do not get fertilized.  Just like most of the other posters said.

  7. Because the chicken farms have a process they go thru which involves very strong light where they hold the egg up to the light and see if there is a chick in it, if not, then they send on down the line for market.

The rooster has to "mate" the chicken in order to fertilize the eggs.
