  1. there is actually older cities found.. and i presume more yet to be found....

The oldest granary yet found, for instance, dates back to 9500 BC and is located in the Jordan Valley. The earliest known settlement in Jericho (9th millennium BC) was a Pre-Pottery Neolithic A culture that eventually gave way to more developed settlements later, which included in one early settlement (8th millennium BC) mud-brick houses surrounded by a stone wall, having a stone tower built into the wall. In this time there is evidence of domesticated emmer wheat, barley and pulses and hunting of wild animals.

  2. It just goes to show you that civilization is only about 6000 years old... the rest is all theoretical, i.e., evolution, etc.

  3. How could human have always lived in cities?

    Who would have built them?

Yes, we've probably always lived in groups; that's not the same as cities.

Not many living quarters have survived from say, 10,000 BC or before.

  4. well, aside from the fact that most people were some what nomadic or hunters and gathers as everyone else has stated. there are countless cases of armies totally destroying civilizations as they came across them, burning them to the ground ect...

its a shame too, think of all we could have learned if all those places and cultures werent destroyed

  5. No. Until about 10,000 years ago, we were hunter-gatherers. Small groups and possible some shelters, but we followed the game or fish. Agriculture and domestication of animals grouped humans into larger societies.

  6. People were hunter gatherers before they discovered agriculture.5000 years ago in eurasia people formed fortifications that became cities to defend against marauders. All humans originated from subsaharan Africa 50,000 years ago and no cities were there back then..

  7. Cities could not come into being until after the invention of agriculture caused people to settle in one place.

Until then they were largely migrant hunter and gatherers.

  8. History tells me that the earliest Man went

back to 6000BC. Was found in the Euphrates

Valley. In the vicinity of Iraq, Iran and etc.
