How come the protests at the Republican National Convention appear to be more violent?

Why do you think the protests against the RNC, and the police response to them, appear to have been so much more violent than those for the DNC? Is it the protesters themselves? the police? or is it just the media's coverage of the violence?

I know that there was a threat against Obama's life in Colorado, but that seemed to be taken care of more off to the side, and more hush-hush than some of the marches and protests in St. Paul.

I'm a liberal, and will, most likely be voting for Obama, but seeing the protests, the "RNC Welcoming Comittee" and the police response just makes me cringe. I hate being identified with people like that. There are better ways of getting your message across.

Anyway, why do you think it has been this way?
