I was watching a documentary of North and South Korea at the Joint Security Area at the DMZ. There were Americans there and I carefully scrutinized their uniforms. Sure enough, it said "US Navy". I thought this was an ARMY only duty?

  1. The navy sniveled until we let them get off the boat. We've regretted it ever since.

  2. There you go thinking again. Some would say you are working without tools.

  3. I still remember my instructor on the first day at EOD School, "Assumption is a Mother of All *uck Ups."

In modern days, the Navy isn't just all about ships.

Army & Marines aren't all about infantries and land force, I've met quite a few Army Divers in my time.

Air Force isn't all about planes, they also have one of the biggest Security Force in the world.

I, being in the Navy, still got stuck in a landlocked country like Afghanistan for almost a year.

  4. What, the Navy is too good to pull shore duty?  There's a lot of inter-branch operations in Korea.  Not just Army.

  5. The answer is in your question.  It's a Joint Security Area.  Joint Commands can have members from all branches of the military, not just the Army.

  6. The Navy has been augmenting Army units for years now, as the Army is stretched very thin.  and there have been Naval personnel in Korea a lot longer than that.

it s a JOINT security area, after all.
