How come there is no unlimited broadband in australia?

in some countries FTTH with unlimited use is available from $35, since as recently as 5 years ago. australia is in stone age.

  1. In my opinion it's because ISP's like Bigsewerpool are money grabbing capitalist scum bags who's motto is 'rip em off for all we can get'!


  2. There is no unlimited broadband because some politicals broke their promise about improved internet connections.See we are not in the stone age,we know a lot of thing technology wise.The problem is that politicans are not listening and providing us with what we desire.

  3. Copper fibres cost way too much to lay both within the country and undersea. Australia's at the bottom of the world and way too spread out!

    Most English language websites and digital media files are hosted in the upper echelons of the world. To 'download' these sites/files onto your browser requires a physical (copper) connection, and the increase in bandwidth demand means more undersea cables need to be built. It's waaaaay too expensive, hence the crazy bandwidth caps here in Australia.
