Tesla, Da Vinci, Einstien, etc .....now all I know of is Stephen Hawking....are we becoming dumber or are they just tucked away in a lab and we never hear about them?

  1. you will never know a genius was

a genius until you go into the future

and realize how much we progressed

    on his ideas.

  2. Because being a genius is more common nowadays than it was before. Therefore you don't get acknowledged as much as you would have been if you were equally smart, but born sometime in the past. That's my theory.

And by the way, we have modern art now so you don't have to be smart to become an artist. All you have to do is to take a picture of a dog and say "My thought behind this was that I wanted to create something cute." and every loser would adore you. ;)

  3. It takes decades to become great at something. Oh, they're out there, we just won't be hearing about them until they've found the ultimate cure for cancer, or whatever it is they're working on..

By the way, don't forget about Dr. John Nash whose life story was made into the film "A Beautiful Mind."

  4. There still are, and indeed there are more.  Much work is being done by people who are smart, but not that smart, and this is the work that you most often see.
