How come theres people that are 17 and get a credit card and start building credit?

  1. because they are responsbile and want to establish credit so they can have nice things and advancements.


  2. if I remember right you can't get a card until you are 18, at least that's how it was when I was younger, but if you were on the card with your parents then it was allowed, but that doesn't really do much to build your credit

  3. you cannot get a credit card in your name until you are eighteen and employed or have another type of income coming in, i started getting a few cards for each of my three children when they were young, using their fathers income information and now that they are young adults they have great credit and a couple of credit cards with rather large credit limits attached to them..........

  4. Their parents cosign for them, taking responsibility for paying the card off if the 17 year old doesn't.

  5. i have a friend who took out a credit card in her daughters name (daughter was 15) and she wants to build her daughters credit so she can get a car when shes older without no problems.
