  1. They mean that you can't pick money like you pick apples.

The paper that money is printed on is made from linen (rags, cloth, etc.)

Strathmore Bond 100% linen. Need special permit to get it and have to account for every scrap!

  2. The paper U.S. money is made from is made of cotton fibers.  No trees involved.

  3. its just an expression.

because when you pick a leaf off a tree, it will grow back.

but money doesnt come that easily, it has to be worked for.

the material in which its made of doesnt have anything to do with the expression.

it would be like saying: "that man is as evil as satin!" ..."but they're both human"

  4. money is made out of a thin cloth w/ very little paper involved that's why its hard to counterfeit.

  5. I haven't actually researched the idea, but I do believe that "paper" money IS actually more of a cloth like material than actual paper, possibly even synthetic materials.

  6. The money is the tree!

  7. they say that because u cant just pull paper of of an apple tree they have to cut the tree and then do other stuff to it.

what this is saying is that u cant just pull a $20 bill out of a tree
