  1. Perhaps a large population of indigenous people who sometimes develop disproportionate alcohol problems.

  2. Some native villages decided that alcohol interfered with their traditional way of living and each village decided among the residents to ban it. There are some towns in the U S that have agreed to ban McDonalds

  3. Really?  Hmmm.  Well...do you know how long those winters ARE up there?

You thought our winters were bad for driving.....my guess is you need your wits to survive up there!

Drinking causes fetal alcohol syndrome and one should never drink when pregnant either....just FYI.

That is actually a big problem in indigenous communities (alcoholism)  and its not fair to those poor babies to be born that way.

  4. Alaska isn't the only state which has dry counties, many southern states do too. Some places it's a holdover from prohibition and moral values, in other places it's to help deal with rampant alcoholism and the problems that go with it.

I've heard it said there's no meaner drunk then an Alaskan Inuit. Also incidents of fetal alcohol syndrome is three times higher in Alaska than the national average.

  5. well i live in alaska

and the natives are known for being drunk all of the time

up north the people in small villages dont have anything to do so they drink

im actually part native but i dont live in a village or even look native so im not just being mean to natives

people here get depressed because during the winter it is always dark, and even more so in the far north, so they drink
