How come tiger, phil, and adam started on the back 9?

does this happen a lot in golf? starting the back 9 (holes) before the front 9 (holes)?

this happens in every tournament because there are more players before the cut is made..  on thurs and fri, there will be 2 groups of players, 1 grp will play in the morning, 1 grp will play in the afternoon..  in each group, half will tee off at #1 and the other half will tee off at #10..

Yes in the first and second rounds it happens almost always. Yesterday they started at 8:06 of no. 1 and today at 1:36 off no. 10 both opposites of the day before

it happens almost every tournament because they usually start them later around 1pm to 3pm so people can catch the end after work

this just speeds up play and it is totally normal

on tv, beside their score, if there is an * that means they started on the back
