  1. Vegetarianism is not about hate.  It's about love.

  2. I don't hate nor dislike meat or dairy.

I just discovered that humans are herbivores and mammals.

Seems like a silly thing to discover, since it is what we are, but when it comes to money, people will do most anything to make more and more money and if that means convincing a large population of herbivores that they are really carnivores or at least omnivores and that junkfood is actually something to put in our mouth and swallow etc.  I mean, look around, people can be fairly easily convinced of things when every aspect of their lives are controlled by corporations (including the government and politicians etc. too).  It's pretty hard to imagine not eating meat and dairy when every aspect of your life from your parents, to your teachers, to the TV, to the ads at the bus stop, etc. are all telling you otherwise.  And you know something must be wrong because whenever you ask someone a question such as, "Why do we drink milk when no other mammal on the planet drinks milk post infancy?" and nobody can give you a straight answer and what they tell you sounds very much like advertising and propaganda etc.... it should make you wonder.  Doesn't it?  Or "Why does every other animal on the planet similar to us not eat meat?" and nobody can give you a straight answer to that question either.  It sure made me wonder; doesn't it make you wonder?

  3. more of an animal abuse thing.

    i don't hate meat.

i just choose not to eat it along with the other animal products (eggs, milk, ect.)

answer above explains some of it. don't agree with some though.

and no jay, we are not psycho.

    that was stupid.

its more personal for me i guess. used to live on a farm. all the animals were like pets. it would be like eating my pets. i find it gross to think about. and now i live a much healthier lifestyle.

  4. Some people become vegetarian because they don't like meat, but most of us have some pretty deeply held beliefs behind our decision.  It's not that we "hate" meat, but it's often that we hate how animals are raised for slaughter, or we hate what intensive animal agriculture does to the environment.  But a whole lot of us wouldn't frame it as hatred at all; rather, we'd say we love animals too much to eat them or we care too much about our planet to destroy it.  For some people, it may be a health issue and for others, their faith dictates it.  There are as many reasons as there are vegetarians.

  5. www.meat.org<== you must see this to understand.

  6. i don't hate cows or chicken or any other "meat"

i hate they way they are tortured and murdered in inhumane ways for mass production.

watch the movie "earthlings" that was made in 2005 and you'll understand.

  7. because it is sickening and turns my stomach..

do I have to have a reason? because maybe I just dont' want to eat it?

  8. I'm a vegetarian, not a vegan, I personally find meat completely unappealing b/c I look at it and see an animal, not just a cut of steak and I think about what the animal went thru and it makes me nauseous.  Also besides that the texture and feel of meat is just disgusting to me.

  9. I don't hate meat itself; I hate the way the meat industry confines and routinely abuses animals. Animals on factory farms are treated like inanimate objects instead of living, feeling beings. They're often slaughtered while fully conscious.

  10. Vegetarians don't hate meat.  They hate what the animal has to go through to become that piece of chicken or steak.  They choose to be vegetarian because they a.) Don't believe in inhumane treatment of animals or b.) Dislike the taste of meat

Vegans I am not totally sure, but they don't hate meat and dairy, they just choose to not consume meat, eggs, or dairy products.  It's just a life style choice, much the same as a person who chooses to eat fast food everday.  It is a completely healthy way to live your life.

  11. I'm a vegetarian, i dont "hate" meat. I don't eat it because i dont see the need to kill animals for my food. Thats it, as simple as that. Same with commercial eggs and dairy - there is no need to kill animals for me.

  12. I don't hate, or even dislike, meat. After all, I ate it for 24 1/2 years before I became vegetarian (7 years ago).

I just dislike what it does to my body. I inherited some horrible stomach problems, and eating meat just made those much worse. However, other vegetarians dislike the taste of meat, give it up as a sacrifice for religious reasons or personal beliefs, or just don't want to spend the money to prepare it. However, I'd say most of the vegetarians that I know avoid eating meat because they dislike the idea of animals suffering for their sustenance or the way factory farms treat the creatures in the name of profit.

Most of the vegans I know take that a step further and vow to shun dairy products for the same reasons. They don't like the way that dairy cows are given hormones and forced to overproduce milk or the fact that the male calves are often sent off to become veal. Also, they don't agree with confining chickens to tiny cages in dark rooms and having them overproduce eggs. However, there are other people who have cholesterol problems or other health issues, and that is their motivation to go vegan.

Basically, it all depends on the person and WHY they chose to be vegetarian or vegan.

  13. because they are so cruel to the animals. no humane could ever even start to imagine what that would be like.... ugh, it gives me the chills just thinking about all the c**p they got through.

  14. Meat in general are GMO (genetically modified Organism).  Feeds given to animals are chemicals i.e., like growth hormones which are carcinogenic to human.  Many disease have been attrributed to meat like hypertension, cardio vascular, etc.  Unless you are raising an animals that were fed with organic food or natural food, then you could eat this sparingly.

  15. Well you see, it's that most of us see it as we're eating something that was at one point living. Something that was killed to serve the purpose of man. Others see it as a religious thing. Some of us were raised vegetarian. Some of us take the initiative due to the animal cruelty and then find that we are much happier as vegetarians. And vegan's really don't have a huge thing against dairy but it's just an extension to the vegetarian thing. Some people believe that animals should be let free, allowed to roam free. Not be meant to serve man and give him their flesh, their meat and their milk. If left in nature the cows would find ways to release their milk, mainly by their calf who, if given the choice would drink until the mother was dry. But if it weren't for meat eaters cows would most likely rule the world. I already think that rabbits are planning to.
