How come videos from my camera that are put in my computre, are in MOV format?

do u know any video converters that are FREE that i can download?

or do u have an explanation how i can fix this problem so it can be like always in avi format?

or any explanation, please help!

cus i need to this for my track video!

  1. It depends on what software you use to capture the video. You can use movie maker to capture .wmv files. Hope this helps.


  2. Your camera records in QuickTime format - it's a standard format used by a lot of digital cameras and it produces .MOV files.  You can't change it - that's what it does.

    AVI isn't a video format, it's a file format - e.g. DivX is packed in avi files and so is DV, but they're very different.  Super is a good, free converter.  If you need avi files to edit in Windows Movie Maker, select the DV codec or ignore avi altogether and convert to wmv.

  3. Download *Videora* to convert the .mov format to anyother formats you like. You should change the video formats in your Video Capture Software to .avi or .mpeg.
