  1. Because it's cheap enough not to influence people's decision to buy it. When people have to decide whether to eat or drive, watch out for protests. Right  now, the biggest decisions people have to make is which to drag on vacation behind their motorhome, the jet skis or the sand rail.

  2. Because if we ran our cars on mineral water. We'd be paying £4.99 a litre at some places.

  3. I drive 2 hours a day and I just don't care. Sure, I'd like to pay less, but what am I going to do? I still spend less on gas than almost any other utility.

  4. cause we need it, and cannot make it ourselves...

  5. because there is not a thing we could do about it no matter what we did..

  6. Percentage-wise, with inflation and cost of living increases in pay, in most cases we are not paying any more than we ever have.

  7. because we live in britain,a police state.where everyone has the right to moan, but not to act.

  8. There isnt much you can do about it  -  face it

  9. Because most of us can still afford to drive.

  10. because we are British,we dont do things like that,we take it and suffer in silence.

    COME ON UK, WAKE UP

  11. It's a sellers market that's why. And we really don't want to get all sweaty and violent in petrol queues like the Yanks and French do we?

I think the world price of crude oil would reduce if the Yanks didn't waste so much of it in their 10mpg (imperial) 4x4's. They'd stop buying these things if they had to pay our type of prices at the pumps. It would be close to $8 per US gallon.

  12. Because people keep buying to fuel their thirsty SUVs so they can commute from the suburbs.

If you are in the USA you have cheap fuel.  We are $4.50/gal in Canada.

  13. I am up in arms every time I fill up. I almost had a heart attack the other day when I had to pay £1.05 per litre. They should get a defib machine on the pump nowadays. I'm just bracing myself for tomorrow when I fill up to drive to Scotland from the South of England. Still. The price we pay for not wanting to get abused or stabbed on a bus or train I suppose

  14. I got petrol today. £1 per litre. That's UK. I think the people answering you from US, Canada etc may not be aware how much we have to pay. Think the tax of that £1 is 50p. I'm a driving instructor and fill up 2-3 times a week at £25 each time. Thankfully it's not me paying. When I'm 'off work' and pay from my own pocket it breaks my heart. If I had to pay all the time I would use my car much less.

  15. This is what the labour govement set in there tasks to get more money...People will always want to drive, some people need a car, I dont drive but I know that my bus ticket will be going up...my wages, ask the govenment on mimimum wage.

  16. Because a lot of us have found alternative means of transport.

  17. the cost of petrol is fairly reasonable, its the tax on it that is legalised robbery.because drivers were switching to diesel, they put the tax up on that even more than petrol ,even though diesel is cheaper to produce and costs less.
