How come were the only country in the u.s. to have stickers attach to our driver's lisense plate?

because ive notice that other countries besides the u.s. has no yearly stickers attach to their driver's liense plate like great britain for an example

  1. States manage their own Departments of Motor Vehicles. It is not managed federally. So, the laws for your state, may be different from others.


  2. In Ohio we used to have steel plates. Before they went to that whole ordeal w/ the birthday / plate # stuff on the sticker, he would put it on a magnet and put it on whatever on e of his classic cars he decided to drive that day. Pretty slick huh? O the good old days. Unfortunately the good old days was only a few yrs. ago. Don't look for them to come back.

  4. Only some states do that. Here in Texas we get a new sticker for the inside of the windshield when we renew our registration. It's computer generated by the DMV clerk and has the month and year of expiration in large numerals. It also has the license plate number printed on it. Attempting to remove it voids the sticker. Makes a lot more sense than those very stealable stickers on the corner of the plate.
