How come when i burn a movie to dvd with srt i get symbols like # ?

They appear at the beginning and end of each subtitle that appears on the screen.

  1. Open the srt in a text editor.  If there's anything other than the text there, mystery solved.  If not, that's very weird and it's probably that DVD player or your DVD authoring software.


  2. The srt files are not properly formatted.

    There are invisible characters that are not displayed...
