How come when i download a file from the internet it can never open?

every time i download a file it open with notepad or mozilla firefox, and it cant open the original file. Please Help!!!

click save as or change what it automatically does when u click a link like that. im not sure im understand what you are saying though, add more info :p

Depends on the extention of the file. You probably set it default to open with notepad or internet browser.

what type of files do u download?if it is a winRAR or ZIP files u have to extract it..only then u can open it..let us know what type of file it is or some more details...u can edit this question and write the file type and more on this same page..
