  1. Like the other person said, it may be a different tooth from the one that was filled.  Cold sensitivity can be a variety of things, including the recent filling or something as small as a receeding gum on a nearby tooth.

I agree with the other person that you should have your dentist recheck it.  If the filling was deep, some sensitivity to cold is not abnormal.  On the other hand, like the other person said, it is possible that not all the decay was removed, or maybe there is a void in the filling, or there are voids in the margin area.

If it is not getting better, you definitely should have it checked; if nothing else to be reassured that the filling looks ok and that you don't have something major going on with another tooth.

  2. You probably have sensitive front teeth.  The same thing happens to me...

You should probably have your dentist check out your molar though, he may not have gotten rid of the whole cavity.  Dentists drill the decayed tooth and bacteria away, and sometimes they don't get it all before the fill it again.

If that happened, the dentist shouldn't charge you, so I would just give him a call.

  3. Better get back to the dentist.  You didn't say how old you are, but it could be an impacted wisdom tooth among other things.  The cold sensation could be from decay or exposed dentin.  Brush everywhere gently, being sure to clean the gumline, too. Be sure you aren't bathing your teeth in sugary liquids, like juice or soda.  This causes decay and sensitivity.

    Good luck.
