How come when it rains my water pressure is very low?

theres a pretty bad thunderstorm in my area now. but when ever theres a thunderstorm in my area my water presure goes really low. like i can't even flush my toliet. it happens all the time

  1. Could be that you have a water tower in your area that feeds your water lines.

    I'm taking a wild guess but perhaps the pumps that fill the tower are turned off during a storm to prevent damage from lightening strikes or maybe they are turned off so that the pumps don't suck in a lot of mud/silt that is stirred up during a storm
