They act so ******* weird? My cousin is 25, and he seriously has a drinking problem. I'm 17 and i drink once in a while, but theres a huge difference. I drink in safe -er enviroments. I dont go walking around bar to bar drinking, i'll be at a friends house, at a kickback, or a friends party. But my cousin is really weird when he is drunk. Why does he yell when he's drunk? He yells at nothing though, he just yells to yell. What should i do? He lives in a 2nd world country but he is about to go back to the United States with me untill January. So i was thinking while we were there we should try to solve his porblem. Also he has a problem about social class. He cares so much about what the public thinks about him....

  1. a second world country??? which?

And it is likely his age...just don't go party with him, either he will get the hint, or you don't have to see it, either way... you win.

  2. Some people you will find, use the alcohol as an excuse for their misbehaviour, as simple as that, alchohol lowers inhibitions, some are liable to become, emotional, rowdy, violent or simply terrorise their friends and blame it in the drink afterwards.

  3. If he cared what people thought of him, he would not get drunk to this degree act ignorant in public.  He needs help.  Maybe you can get him at least into some AA meetings while he is in the US.

  4. Booze gives you "super powers" where you think you can do anything and everything. When you are "toasted" it doesn't seem like yelling to you, only to those that are sober around you.

I would definitly get him in to some counseling. If you  are coming here, I would tell him to be very careful, as he could get arrested for public intoxication for being drunk in public.

  5. Booze screws up your brain; and when a person is drunk. . . you are dealing with a bottle of booze, not the real person.

You cannot solve his problem; only he can take ownership of being an alcoholic.  Why are you trying to be responsible for someone else anyway?

Your last sentence is invalid:  if he cared, he wouldn't get drunk in the first place and act like an idiot.

  6. He is fidning pleasure in what ever he is doing why you want to justify what you are doing is right... think

  7. He doesn't know how to handle booze and doesn't know how to stay away from it.

  8. He could be an alcoholic. You can not solve his problems. Do not try to or even think about wasting your energy. If he does not want help he will not do what he has to do to get sober. I know from experience. I dealt with someone for 8 years trying to save him from his drinking. It almost killed me. Go to an alanon meeting where they will help you deal with your problems that are caused by his drinking and teach you how to handle things. Trust me you need to go to these meetings just to hear what they have to say. You will be amazed at what you hear and what they will suggest to you. If love could save people from drinking would not have any problems with drinkers. Be careful and do not let him drag you into the depths of h**l.
