if god has his plan, and someone does end up killing themselves, then that's obviously part of the plan, right? if everything's planned out, then everything they do would be what they were supposed to do..?

THE TRUTH OF THE LIFE OF THIS WORLD (VIDEO)

Wickedness, injustice, grief, pessimism, trouble, loneliness, fear, stress, frustration, distrust, unscrupulousness, anxiety, rage, jealousy, resentment, drug addiction, immorality, gambling, prostitution, hunger, poverty, social corruption, theft, war, struggle, violence, oppression, fear of death… News about these issues appear in the newspapers and on TV every day. The popular press devotes entire pages to these subjects, while others serialise articles about their psychological and social aspects. However, our acquaintance with these feelings is not limited solely to the press; in daily life, we, too, frequently come across such problems and, more importantly, personally experience them.

People and societies endeavour to liberate themselves from the distressing experiences, disorder and repressive social structures that have prevailed over the world for long periods. We only need to glance at ancient Greece; the Great Roman Empire; Tsarist Russia, or the so-called Age of Enlightenment, and even the 20th century-a century of misery which saw two world wars and world-wide social disasters. No matter upon which century or location you concentrate your research, the picture will not be appreciably different.

If this is the case, why haven't people succeeded in solving these problems, or at least some efforts been made to remove such social diseases from society?

People have encountered these problems in all ages, yet each time they have failed to find any solutions because the methods they employed were inappropriate. They sought various solutions, tried different political systems, laid down impracticable and totalitarian rules, stirred up revolutions or subscribed to perverted ideologies, while many others preferred to adopt an indifferent attitude and merely accepted the status quo.

In our day, people are almost numbed by this way of living. They readily believe these problems to be "facts of life." They picture a society immune to these problems as being nothing short of impossible-a dream utopia. They persistently and openly express their distaste for such a way of living, yet easily embrace it, since they think they have no other alternative.

The resolution of all these problematic issues is possible only by living by the principles of the "true religion." Only when the values of true religion prevail can a pleasant and tranquil scene replace this gloomy and unfavourable picture, which is doomed to continue so long as God's limits are ignored. To put it another way, people are enslaved by these complications as long as they avoid the values of the Qur'an. Put simply, this is the "nightmare of disbeliefe" and the link below for this wonderful book:

    http://fs.harunyahya.net/popup/Download....

you will find how the regulation of life by the "norms of morality" introduced by the Qur'an revealed to mankind by God will banish the "nightmare of disbeliefe," how pessimism, corruption and social restlessness can be eliminated from society, how the individual can surround himself with an ideal environment, what spiritual and material benefits he is likely to attain by adherence to these norms of morality are gone into in detail, and finally, that the unique alternative to all these problems is the morality of the Qur'an.

So far, many books have attempted to deal with the social and psychological problems societies face. Yet, what distinguishes this book from others is its stress on the most realistic solution. It also sincerely warns people against the troublesome future they are likely to face if they fail to resort to this solution.

We expect that every reader of conscience will grasp that peace, mutual trust and an ideal social life is attainable only by embracing the values of the Qur'an and will turn to the true religion, which is Islam.

They will then happily join the ranks of those who never suffer, mentally or physically, from any of the above-mentioned complications. Around them, there will always be an abundance of favours, comfort, love, respect, peace and confidence, and moral virtues will prevail. They will know how to earn God's approval, by observing His limits and the commandments of the Qur'an. They will thus, by having faith in God, attain His mercy and at last enter Paradise.

Real happiness and peace can be ONLY found in submitting to the commands of the Creator and the Sustainer of this world. God has said in the Qur’an: (Truly, in remembering God do hearts find rest.)

    (Qur’an, 13:28)

On the other hand, the one who turns away from the Qur’an will have a life of hardship in this world. God has said:

(But whoever turns away from the Qur’an, he will have a hard life, and We will raise him up blind on the Day of Judgment.) (Qur’an, 20:124)

This may explain why some people commit suicide while they enjoy the material comfort money can buy. For example, look at Cat Stevens (now Yusuf Islam), formerly a famous pop singer who used to earn sometimes more than $150,000 a night. After he converted to Islam, he found true happiness and peace, which he had not found in material success.

At this web page, you can read the thoughts and feelings of these people, who are from different countries and have different backgrounds and levels of education.

In the Holy Quran, God (Allah) has said:

    125. Those whom Allah (in His plan) willeth to guide,- He openeth their breast to Islam; those whom He willeth to leave straying,- He maketh their breast close and constricted, as if they had to climb up to the skies: thus doth Allah (heap) the penalty on those who refuse to believe.

    (Quran,6,125)

  3. If God gave us free will, then how can God also have a plan for our lives? That's one thing I had a problem with in church. Everything being part of God's plan doesn't really make sense. There's stuff that happens as a result of our negligence or just accidents that happen. That's it. Obviously, free will means that we have the choice to kill ourselves.

I think that "Don't do it, God has a plan for everyone" isn't because they don't know what else to say or because they use it as a "turtle shell" as one other person said, but rather for conversion. This way, they have the possibility of converting (someone else here called it "seducing") that person to Christianity. I would even go as far to say that it's not even that God has a "plan" for people, but rather that they just want to open the door for that person to ask about Jesus. Remember, to Christians, that IS help. They think that bringing someone to Jesus will add some magic into their lives, that it will help rectify the wrongs. It's just their brand of advice. It's nothing evil, it's not like all Christians are little babies who have to cling to security blankets; it's just that's what they know and believe to be right, and so they try to share it.

  4. Maybe that is all they know to say.

  5. God has a plan for HIMSELF and what HE wants to happen.

Free will, minds strong and weak, bodies strong or weak, have their OWN plan..

OF course God doesn't want anyone to suffer, OF COURSE he is love and doesn't take loved ones or babies.

His plan quite simply is to prove WE NEED HIM... By his giving us life and then leaving us to decide if we need him or want him or not.

I personally do not feel suicide is selfish, I feel its like what so many things are in life an act of desperation from a tired mind. No way out.. No otherchoice, if you stay alive you have to face the future and it doesn't like good no matter how you look at it.

For whatever reason that mind feels that way.

I bet you... I just bet God is SAD for those that can't bear anymore weight.

It's NOT all planned out. HIS PLAN IS... But our plan is up to us.

Gods plan was NOT to put people on this Earth and have them function without him, but WE or the first two CHOSE just that. He had a plan, THEY decided on a different plan.. And from then all we all do...

If We can all do just the best we can with what we have to work with.

  6. I think God gives us all potential... potential to find wonderful things in life and to become wonderful people. He will help us be guided to it. However, he still allows us to choose whether we reach it. We can choose not to reach it. Just because God has a plan for someone doesn't mean that person will follow it.

  7. Well you never know.. gods plan for them very well could be for them to commit suicide.  Though we may find it dreadful to hear/see/think about they may need to leave earth earlier than the rest of us for some important reason.  Maybe they need to be rebirthed again to do something special so they have to leave here in a hurry.  God bless.

  8. i would love to know the answer to this question as well. in my opinion the people who say religious comments like just pray and you'll feel better or god has a plan should not answer the question at all because they are helping no one. all they are doing is trying to seduce more innocent people into the fairytale they call a religion instead of trying to help them through their problems. its very ridiculous and self serving.

  9. People are just trying to make the people who want to commit suicide feel better, and thats the only way they know how.

If you are trying to commit suicide, its the wrong path, been there done that,

    :]

  10. As we have an eternal soul, there is nothing that we can do to our physical bodies that will harm our eternal souls.  Utlimately all will end up where they should be.

And yeah, there is a plan for everyone.  You make it up as you go along with the choices that are made. If someone chooses suicide, they serve God's plan by giving everyone left behind something different to think about, honestly.  Do some at the funeral feel responsible for the death by failing to force that person to live against his will?  If so, they're in need of repose and inner exploration.  We are each given the energy to live one life: our own.  For those who are forcing the suicidal to live against their will, living the lives of others by trying to get them to make decisions you agree with only results in problems being thrown back into your own life.  It's a universal anti-interference defense mechanism all spirits have.  It ultimately keeps other meddling spirits from overstepping their bounds in any situation.

If your bounds were overstepped, your spirit apparently thinks you needed the experience, so just learn something from it.  You might be surprised what you learn...not that you need to listen to others more, but that you're actually gaining the power to tell others to butt out with your own mind, so you won't even have to bother doing it with your mouth anymore.  The way you carry yourself will handle it all.

  11. Because that's the simple explanation that they know as christians, anything to painful to cope with, or to complex to know how to deal with, that is the "turtle shell" they have to emotionally back into if you get my meaning there. All part of the circular logic that comes from the bible. It allows them to deal with complex problems and feel good about dodging the issue all together. Sounds a bit callous I know, but thats how I see it, avoid the problem and say it's God's will. or he has a plan~
