Question:

How come when you mix a whole load of colours together you alwyas get brown?

if you mix a few different colours of play-dough you always get brown! (.....or is that juat me???)

  1. It's because colors (not light) absorb all of the other colors of light. Take blue. It will absorb reds, greens yellows, and all the rest. It  only reflects the blue. The same way, a red absorbs everything but red and a yellow absorbs all the colors but yellow. Now when you mix two or three of these, they each absorb the rest of the color that the others reflect. That way nothing gets out and you see that brown/black mess no matter what.
