How come when you shake a glass of water with ice it becomes colder faster?

  1. Well... Ice has little particles that are called "Watermelunicles" When you shake it around, the ice gives off Watermelunicles faster.


  2. Well duh... because the ice is travelling thru the mass quicker than if it just sat there.

  3. Because your moving more water against the surface area of the ice.

  4. This is totally a guess, but probably because as the ice hits the side of the glass, small chips break off and dissolve into the water easier than a big chunk.

  5. the ice distributres the coldness through the water when shaken and the water molecules pass over the ice cooling the water as it is shaken.

  6. The warmer water is mixed with the ice, so it becomes colder.

    If it just sits there, only the water close to the cubes becomes colder at first, then it radiates outward.
