Question:

How come whenever I drink coffee I seem to get stomach aches?

I've been drinking coffee since I was 16, usually just one cup a day, sometimes two.

I don't consider myself addicted - don't HAVE to have it. Yesterday I didn't have any because I had belly aches the night before.

Well, I'm just assuming its the coffee...could it be? Anyone else experienced this??

  1. Are you drinking canned coffee? Are you drinking those cute little plastic bags of coffee from the big name coffee places?

If so you are probably reacting to the rancid oils in the coffee.

Fresh coffee, stuff you KNOW has been roasted on a given date, not the best buy date, and ground just before you brew it should not cause a problem.

Remember, FRESH is coffee that has been roasted no longer that 18 to 21 days. After that, you are taking chances of bad coffee.

  2. no, it is just because your stomach can't intake coffee. don't drink anymore. it isn't good for you!

  3. Did you drink it on an empty stomache? I get like that when I haven't eaten anything. Maybe that is the case.

  4. Yes! I've been drinking Coffee since I was also around 16-18. I'm 25 now, and recently been experiencing stomach pains,  nausea and dizziness after drinking coffee. This happens to some people who have a 'nervous stomach'. Do you also stress a lot and have anxiety? This could play a HUGE factor in your Coffee consumption. I switched to decaf, and don't get sick anymore.
