  1. well they arent going to use a myspace pic lol.

thats basically the point of school pictures for identification.

  2. Because their school photo is usually the only professional picture they have had taken.

Amateur photos usually are out-of-focus or not close up enough to get a good view of the person.

  3. its most likely up to date and accurate

  4. you know how school pics are, don't you? they take it like a mugshot - making you look completely straight FORWARD into the camera. it's easier to find your kid this way when you've got the best idea that he/she's really a criminal instead of being on amber alert - target locked!  ~_-

  5. The pictures are provided to the police by the parents.  They're clear and well-lighted and you can see every feature of the child's face.  Agreed that there are some pictures on websites that are as good or better, but when a parent is scared half out of their minds when their child is missing, they're going to grab the first thing they can get their hands on.  The fact is that a studio photograph is likely to be more helpful than something shot at some weird angle by a kid.  And let's not forget that if a child has been abducted, you want to do everything humanly possible to help citizens identify that child.

  6. because those are the most recent ones taken probably

  7. because those tend to be more recent. and what if  they don't have a myspace? they couldn't rely on that. for example, do you think a stolen boy at age four would have a myspace?

  8. Because their parents probably provide the photo. And its usually best quality.

  9. i don' tthink a stolen boy at age 4 would have a school picture anyway .... doh
