How come wrestling nowadays isnt as good as before?

like.. i was a hardcore wrestling fan..

like the 90's..

i remember when the rock was rocky mayavia or something, and when he got booed for the IC championship..

and the feud agains stone cold and 3:16..

the rock n sock connection..

the real degeneration x.. -shawn michaels, x-pac, road dogg, billy assman or somethn, triple h. etc..

like now

wwf/wwe is way more scripted, and the acting is horrible.. they need some new good speaking wrestlers with energy like the rock.. am i right?

well the wwf really thrived with their backs to the wall when wcw was still an organization. vince allowed younger stars to develop, the storylines were relevant to the times and their wrestlers worked well in the ring and on the mic.

nowadays...the 'brands' are just boring. we all know mcmahon owns them all and they try to make believe there is a rivalry between the brands. yah right. plus the stars...well they just dont have the same 'it' factor that the previous ones had. thats along with the ridiculous storylines.

wrestling will pick up again...but as far as doing it with this generation of stars, i dont think that will happen.

Mostly because when most of us started to watch wrestling we were kids.

When we were kids we swore wrestling wasnt scripted and no one could tell us anything, so we fed into the storylines that much more.

I dont think its fair to put down wrestlers of today because they try to put on a good show, to me everyone is packed on one or 2 shows. And WWE isnt really being pushed to make the product better simply because they have no Competition.

When WCW was still around they had to try harder because they could go out of bussiness anytime then. WWE doesnt see TNA as a threat.

It's gotta be the steroids and controversy about whether someone is juicing, and the writers are getting cheaper so that the matches aren't promoted right or something of that nature.

Because its theres no competion besides they already turn thier shows to rated PG to attract more kids, and plus thier only focusing on Cena and Batista because they appeal to kids and this newbies that are watching never experience how good was wrestling in the late 90s when the WWF/E was at war with WCW and ECW in the mix. Its sad that the only star they build today its the likes of Cena, Batista Orton, Punk etc. these losers wouldn't last a minute during those times.

Yeah i agree with you. Wrestling used to be so much better back in the 90's. Everything now seems to be really fake and sometimes just stupid. The acting is terrible and it just isn't fun to watch anymore. Part of the reason I think I'm not as big of a fan anymore is because I'm older now. I used to love watching the WWF as a kid because I thought everything was real. But now that I know its all scripted its just not the same.

Everything has a dry spell every once in a while. It's not so bad though. I guess you have to focus moreso on the wrestling instead of the acting in order to appreciate it.
