  1. Good question...

The entire interior is metal as well!

Perhaps the laser point to a spot in the middle?

  2. Because it's metal that is non reflective, it does not have a metal interior it's more of a plastic.

  3. microwave ovens are designed such that the interior is an active

resonant cavity. placing an absorptive material(food) inside,

causes standing waves to heat the food.

placing any conductor inside, would cause these standing waves

to be reflected back into the magnetron.

this would not only cause the device to over-current,but the conductor

,especially if resonant,to generate extremely high voltages resulting in

    arcing.

a metal tray is very un common, and would have to be engineered

    for your oven.

  4. it has no metal in it its just glass

  5. The supermarket "trays" are designed for microwave use. I have no idea what they are made of but it's obviously not the normal "tin-foil" that goes mental when you put it in the microwave..If the instructions sat you can shove it in, then it's going to be fine..

  6. any microwave i've ever seen has a glass tray, not a metal one.

  7. Smooth metal reacts differently than rough/pointy metal.

The effect is called "arcing" where electrons jump from one point to another (think van de graff generator) but on a smoooth surface there aren't any point for the electrons to jump from and so just make the metal really hot.

  8. the tray of every micro wave is made up of glass but i think that you are confused with its wall so, there is a tray at center and the device which create these wave are projected to project the wave at center where we put they item and we are requested to not to operate it empty as after striking the base these wave can divert in any direction .

  9. No the trays are not made of metalbut usually of glass/fibre

  10. A little bit of metal is allowed in the right paces. If you are cooking a rack of lamb, the recipe calls to cover the bone tips with aluminum foil, but no more.
