How come you don't get a three didget number when you request a free credit report?

A free credit report is just that...the report only.

If you want the score you have to pay for it. It's usually $10-25 bucks. Either go on line and order it using a credit card #. If you don't have one send a money order to the credit bureau and they'll send you your score.

The three didget number will be mailed to you in 3-5 days. This is provided you gave the correct address of your domicile and a means to contact you in the event of an error or incomplete profile. Did you comply?
