Question:

How come you never see white racehorses?

After running a quick Google search, there was ONE white racehorse that ran back in the late 90's, but why are they so rare?

    the above facts about the rarity of white race horses due to breeding are correct, there isn't alot of them and this is actually the first one i have seen!

  4. There is no such thing as a white horse.  A horse can either be grey and then slowly whiten out so that it eventually looks white but has black skin underneath, or it can have pink skin and white fur but it will have red eyes which makes it an albino.

Basically, your answer is found in breeding.  The horses bred for horse racing are generally Thoroughbreds or Quarter-Horses.  These are the brownish horses you generally see.  A white horse (Arabian, Appaloosa, etc) are not bred for horse racing, especially in the US, thus making them less common when looking at racehorses.
