Question:

How come you take all that time going to school to become a property manager...?

only to be told, over and over again, that i can't be hired because i don't have the experience or not ENOUGH experience? this sux because how can i GET experience if people don't give me a chance in the first place. i feel as if all i've done was waste all that time in school for absolutely nothing. >.< life sux.

  1. Well, prove related experience.  I was an apt. manager for several years with no experience.  I learned on the job.  I got the job because I had managed a retail store and other things.  You sell your skill set, not necessarily your degree.  Good luck!

I know I am not answering your question, but to be honest with you, I don&#039;t have a correct answer for that.  I have a situation just the opposite actually.  I have been in the hotel business for almost 12 years now.  When I go to apply for a better job, I am asked if I have a degree in hotel management.  No, I don&#039;t, unfortunately, but I do have 12 years of on hand experience.  Doesn&#039;t that count for anything?  When I started in the business, there wasn&#039;t such schooling and degrees as there are now.  I assure you, I know my customer service and managerial experience would be an asset to a hotel.  Ok, sorry, just wanted to rant as well, I guess.  Thanks!
