How common a name is Giosue? It's origin is Italian right?

I fell in love with this name when i was watching a movie. The movie was dubbed and the man pronounced it like the name Joshua. Thats right . . . right?

    it may be another version for Giuseppe or the corrispective for the ebraic Joshua...

  5. Gisuè is a name from the Bible, and it is translated with Joshua in ENglish... it has nothing to do with Giovanni and is still quite used by Evangelic Christians in Italy.
