Question:

How common are Argentine ants near the Ohio River?

And what do they do when the weather is too cold for them? They seem to only be active in summer heat. What do ants in general, not just Argentine, do when it's too cold? Do they hibernate or what?

  1. I think all ants thrive in summer.  I never recall seeing ants in the winter.  If you want to kill ants use a mix of cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle it here and there. The ants will come and pick up the sugar, along with the cinnamon, and take it back to their queen. Ants can’t digest cinnamon and once the queen dies from not being able to digest the cinnamon the colony will die without her
