  1. The first poster is correct.  Evap lines are very faint to where they look more like a shadow.  It will be a situation where you are looking at the test, think you see a positive but can't tell for sure but if you hold it just right you can see it ... barely ... and is that line actually blue or grey?  It is hard to tell.

I recommend using a test with a pink line and preferably first response early results.  Blue tests are more prone to evap lines ... so I have read.  I had what I thought was an evap line on a blue test at around 8 dpo and my first response test came up negative.  Next morning I tested with first response and it came up faint positive but there was no question that it was a real line.  I know they are expensive but really I swear by them for reliability and so do others.  I have read studies about the accuracy and reliability of HPTs and they are tops.

  2. try this website www.peeonastick.com

i thought i had 1 yesterday, as i had too kthe test saw it was negative after a few seconds, went back half an hour later and noticed it was positive, then i read all about evaporation lines and i took another test and the next 1 was also positive,

an evaporation line tooks like a shadow and is very faint

am not sure if all tests get them, i dont think they do, iv took loads and never actually seen 1 yet

  3. An evaporation line will have no color to it. They are grey or an off-white but never pink or blue. But of course any line not showing until after 10 minutes should be considered a negative until you retest to confirm.
