How common are false negative pregnancy tests?

Ok, so I'm on birth control and almost 3 weeks ago now, I was supposed to get my period. It never came, and I had missed some pills that pack, so I was concerned I might be pregnant and never started my new pack just in case. Now it's been 3 weeks, and I've gotten 2 negative pregnancy tests and no period. I don't want to start a new pack until I get my period, but I don't understand why I'm not having a period if I'm not pregnant.... my fiance is convinced that I am. I don't know any more!!!

  1. call your doctor and schedule a blood test and those will tell you 100% if you are pregnant or not.. Good luck in whatever you are hoping for..

  2. for my 3 babies, I had 1 negative hpt with my first and 2 positive home tests with the later two.

I have also skipped a period and went to the Dr twice and was told both times I was not pregnant. (I wasn't and I kept taking those pills since I was only 20 and no way ready for a baby)

You need to go to a Dr at this point hon.

  3. take another test or just make a doctors appointment and get a blood test done

  4. false negatives are common.  My aunt would not test positive on a test until she was 6 months.  Her only true way of knowing was a blood test.

  5. Go to the doctor and have a blood test done.
